#Words & Whiskey | booktalk about living in unsettled times w/ jacqueline kornmüller

The multi-award-winning director Jacqueline Kornmüller dared to try a self-experiment: She no longer wanted to cling to things she had grown fond of and chose her beloved house to practice letting go. She placed an apartment advertisement and watched as numerous interested people – individually or in pairs – wandered through her cosy, self-renovated stone house and its beautiful garden, dreaming of their new lives.

She has packaged these (sometimes) bizarre encounters and the (sometimes) sad inner dialogues during this period into her book Das Haus verlassen (Leaving the House). Kat Menschik, the world-famous illustrator who created the design and graphics of this book, on the other hand, would never think of giving up her home.

Together we ask ourselves in this talk above the rooftops of Vienna: How do we manage to live in these unstable times? And where is home when many can no longer afford a living and others only talk about vanlife and digital nomad live?

On 23rd of april from 7pm we will explore this topic with Jacqueline Kornmüller, Kat Menschik and Nicole List at our rooftop bar der dachboden.
